gift wrap, best burger in vegas, & a personal invitation
round three of this newsletter AND the artist's way creative circle!
first — thanks to each of you who have checked out this digital space over the last few weeks—all 21 of you. i love you.
if you do the seasonal gift-giving, may i recommend this vintage-inspired wrapping paper from BLK MKT Vintage?

🚘 last week my girlfriend, mother, and brother rented a tesla and drove from california to las vegas to meet my aunt, uncle, and a couple of cousins. below are a few of my recommendations next time you’re in the city of debauchery.
🎰 durango casino - a clean and newly renovated casino we found that is not on the strip. we went twice
🍔 a burger and float from irv’s (inside the durango) - best drunken burger!
🍳 the eggdrop sandwich frenchie style at buldogis - so. damn. good.
🍗 bonchon korean fried chicken - i was introduced to this place in koreatown in l.a. and was excited to eat here again!
⏳ i highly recommend gathering a group of loved ones for a game of taboo. we wagered cleaning the kitchen after a home-cooked meal — i’m glad i did not lose! *remember to keep an eye on that hourglass 🤣 you can also practice online

rediscover, redefine, and reprioritize your creativity with the artist’s way creative circle!
this virtual cohort will help you build accountability with folks from diverse backgrounds & prioritize your creative practice(s). this is the third time we are doing this and each time is incredibly impactful for the cohort.
what is the artists’s way?
yes, y’all - it is a book written in the ‘90s by a straight white woman — but hear me out — mike and i are incredibly intentional about curating this material and curriculum around our audience — you!
the group conversations, whatsapp chat, weekly tasks, playlists, and artist highlights are mostly BIPOC. we do our best to bring embodied presence to honest and real conversations around creativity and spirituality.
the artist’s way is a course to help people build confidence to take risks and play and to dispel the idea that they aren't creative or talented enough.

“all it took was a video about J. Cole talking about The Artist Way by Julia Cameron to give me the worst case of FOMO I’ve had in some time.”
